During April and May, the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve organised a series of training workshops aimed at associations, entrepreneurs, self-employed professionals, local entities and anyone interested in developing innovative and sustainable initiatives within their territories.
These workshops were carried out within the framework of the RES-MAB Project, funded by the European Union through the PRIMA Foundation, and brought together participants from different Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves as well as other territories interested in entrepreneurship, social innovation and community development.
The programme was organised by the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve and delivered by Tandem Social, an organisation specialised in social, economic and territorial transformation processes.
One of the most innovative aspects of the initiative was its international and multilingual approach. Although all sessions were conducted in English, participants were able to follow the workshops thanks to an AI-based simultaneous translation system available in Spanish, French, Italian, Slovenian and Arabic. This solution enabled the participation of attendees from seven Biosphere Reserves located in different countries, as well as other external participants interested in the programme.
The workshops combined practical content and participatory methodologies to support participants during the early stages of project and business development. The programme covered key topics such as:
- From needs to solutions: market research, identification of user profiles and development of initial prototypes.
- Business model and value proposition.
- Viability plan.
- Marketing plan.
- Community engagement and collaborative networking.
The sessions were delivered both onsite and online, encouraging international participation and the exchange of experiences among very diverse territories connected through the shared values of Biosphere Reserves.
Through this initiative, the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve strengthens its commitment to sustainable entrepreneurship, social innovation and international cooperation as tools to foster local development and improve territorial resilience.
The RES-MAB Project continues working to promote innovative and collaborative solutions across Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves, fostering connections between communities, organisations and entrepreneurs.
