Training Courses for Current and Future Oyster Farmers
(Ariano Polesine, 20 February 2026)

The Ente Parco Regionale Veneto del Delta del Po, within the framework of the international RES-MAB project, is organizing training courses to encourage and support oyster farming activities.

The RES-MAB project, funded by the PRIMA Foundation and led by the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC), brings together ten Mediterranean partners linked to UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, from:

  • Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve Foundation (Spain)
  • Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (Jordan)
  • Parc naturel régional du Mont-Ventoux and Les vins AOC Ventoux (France)
  • Ente Parco Regionale Veneto del Delta del Po and Istituto Oikos (Italy)
  • Parco Grotte di San Canziano Public Authority (Slovenia)
  • National Agency for the Development of Oases and Argan Areas (Morocco)
  • Jabal Moussa Association for Protection (Lebanon)

The project focuses on UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserves (BRs), areas recognized for their capacity to balance human activity and nature conservation. RES-MAB will establish seven BR demonstration sites across the Mediterranean, transforming them into “living laboratories” to test and implement cutting-edge WEFE solutions.

RES-MAB is an ambitious initiative addressing climate change in the Mediterranean, focusing on UNESCO Biosphere Reserves as key areas to balance human activity with nature conservation. The project will set up seven BR demonstration sites, turning them into “living laboratories” for testing and implementing innovative Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystems (WEFE) solutions. By adopting the WEFE Nexus approach, RES-MAB aims to promote resilience and enhance climate adaptation.

Through the holistic vision inherited from the WEFE approach, the project seeks to develop a management model useful for all Mediterranean BRs, while also creating new business models and innovative market solutions tailored to the diverse needs that each Mediterranean BR must address.
