Field Research in Mont-Ventoux Biosphere Reserve Advances RES-MAB Project Goals

As part of the RES-MAB project, fieldwork was recently conducted in the Mont-Ventoux Biosphere Reserve in France to study Mediterranean cultural landscapes. The research focused on socioecological heritage, cultural ecosystem services, and traditional practices within agroforestry systems.

Esteve Viñals (CTFC) led the fieldwork research activities, which involved in-depth interviews with local stakeholders, including agroforestry landowners and managers, as well as relevant expert institutions and specialized associations. The aim was to collect territorial data to better understand and valorize the role of socioecological heritage and cultural ecosystem services in building landscape resilience in the face of climate change challenges.

This fieldwork represents a key step in advancing the RES-MAB project’s objectives, contributes to sustainable management and resilience of Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves, and supports the expertise and research efforts of its team members.
