The RES-MAB Project was proudly represented at the PRIMA Project Day 2025, which took place in Barcelona on October 1–2, 2025.
Representing the project were Dr. Roser Maneja, Principal Investigator (PI) of the RES-MAB Project and Deputy Research Director of the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC), as well as Scientific Director of the International Center for Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves, and Dr. Mari Carmen Romera, Project Manager of RES-MAB.
The PRIMA Project Day focused on networking, synergies, and shared learning among participating projects. The event aimed to introduce new projects to the PRIMA community while addressing key topics such as reporting, financial and legal requirements, communication, and dissemination best practices.
The RES-MAB project focuses on UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserves (BRs), areas recognized for their contribution and capacity to balance human activity and nature conservation. RES-MAB is establishing seven BR demonstration sites across the Mediterranean, transforming them into “living laboratories” for testing and implementing cutting-edge Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) solutions.
Funded by the PRIMA Foundation, RES-MAB unites research institutions, government agencies, and NGOs across the region.
Led by the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC), RES-MAB brings together eight Mediterranean business, research, and Biosphere Reserve partners from Spain (Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve Foundation), Jordan (Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature), France (Mont-Ventoux Natural Regional Park and Organization for the Defense and Management of AOC Ventoux), Italy (Veneto Regional Park of Po Delta Authority and Istituto Oikos), Slovenia (Public Institute Park Skocjan Caves), Morocco (National Agency for the Development of Oases and Argan Zones), and Lebanon (Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa).
This participation marked an important step forward for the RES-MAB Project, offering a valuable opportunity to present its progress, explore future funding opportunities, and build connections within the PRIMA research and innovation community.
